Everyone has battles to fight and overcome. One of my personal battles is dealing with thoughts that randomly come to torment and give fear of losing a loved one.
Throughout my life, I’ve suddenly lost quite a few people who were very close to me, giving the enemy ammunition to make a blow to vulnerable spots. When I am fighting my battle of thoughts, I verbally speak and render control to God. But that is only half the battle. Then I speak the word of God over family and friends. I pray Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This is the logos word that gives us God’s truth for our lives. Several weeks ago, the logos word became a Rhema word when the Holy Spirit spoke it back to me.
I had my youngest grandchild in the backseat of my car driving down the road. There were several cars in front of me that were stopping to allow someone to make a left hand turn off of the highway, so I began breaking. As I came to a stop, I looked in the rear view mirror and saw a rather large, high, white truck whose driver hadn’t made any indication of slowing down this monster of a truck. Suddenly, the driver, to prevent hitting the back of my car where my granddaughter was sitting, swerved into the oncoming lane of traffic where the lane was free of vehicles. Immediately I heard the Holy Spirit say, “For I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and future. ”
God is so faithful. I’m so grateful that not only my granddaughter was safe, but everyone was safe and the Holy Spirit “showed up”…true to His word!
