This series has looked at how the seed of the gospel has been given to the seed of mankind. The older and younger generations need each other in order to stay focused on God's mission of propagating the gospel seed. This message zeroes in on what older generations need to commit to, in order to help younger generations continue with this mission.

Generations
Our spiritual enemy, satan, has successfully propagated a false message for both ends of the generational spectrum. He tells the young they are not ready, so just wait. He tells the old they don't have it any more, so don't do anything. God's message is exactly the opposite; we are the right age, right now, to do what God has called and prepared us to do. God designed each generation to help the others fulfill their purpose and calling.

The Seed of Man
The Old Testament of the Bible records the journey of the fallen seed of man (mankind) and God's preparations to give it (us) new life. God planted a new seed in His Son Jesus that makes it possible for the dead seed of mankind to become fully alive again. Those who belong to Jesus have a serious generational responsibility for propagating the new seed of life He has provided.

The Power of Seeds
Seeds are only able to manifest their power and purpose after they die. In this passage of Scripture, Jesus began to prepare His disciples for His death, so they would understand good things come from bad things. Jesus demonstrated that reassurance and purpose come from spending time with Father God in prayer; this gave Him strength to fulfill His purpose on earth. A sower sows the seed he has. Jesus sowed the seed of His life, the only seed He had.  We are all sowers and have seed to sow during our time here on earth.
