Seeing God in Nicaragua

On our recent mission trip to Nicaragua, I met a special woman named Patricia. Instead of asking for money or handouts, this woman works in the dump collecting recyclables to make money so that she can put food on the table for her family. She has done this every day for 15 years and despite the conditions and the fact that she works in a dump, this woman has the most phenomenal heart for God and NEVER gives up hope. She had lost her eyesight making her unable to read the Bible.

With the help of some translators and a few other girls, I was able to pray for her healing. She opened up a Bible right in front of us and was able to read…hallelujah!┬áMy heart broke for her, but then I was reminded of God’s amazing love. No matter what situation you are in, He still loves you. I will forever keep this shirt that she gave me and Patricia will forever remain in my heart.
