From Orphan To Family

Jenny Collins Doctors have diagnosed me with RAD, ADHD, Bi-polar, Depressive Disorder, Anxiety, and Oppositional Defiance Disorder. With RAD, I have a hard time making friends; I’m either non-social or too clingy. My biological mom was an alcoholic. I was born with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Pierre Robins Syndrome (which affects my speech) and a cleft pallet (hole in the top of my mouth). From ages 2 to 5 years old, I was neglected and sexually and physically abused by my biological family. I was taken away from my biological family and was adopted when I was 5 years old. At the age of 12, that adoptive family gave up their parental rights and from 12 to 13 I was an orphan.   I was finally adopted at the age of 15 by the mom I have now. This is the 6th home I have lived in. What’s really incredible is that no matter what, she has never given up on me. She has helped me; make friends, get plugged into church and is always teaching me the life skills I will need to succeed. But the most important thing, is that she is teaching and showing me who God is and what Jesus has done for me. My God Story is the mother that he has placed into my life. When everyone else seemed to have turned their backs on me, God through her, has never given up on me. I now know the true meaning of love.
