A New Job

By July 20, 2013 No Comments
The Parantos On July 11th, 2012, Kylene and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary. That same day, I was informed that I was let go from my employer.
I was traveling over an hour and 30 minutes each way to work and worked over 70 hours a week. We were praying for a change. My marriage and relationship with my children were paying too high of a price because of my absence due to my job. We needed something to change in order to restore some things that should have never had to suffer. That change came, just not in a way we ever thought would happen. After I was let go, the Lord spoke to me and said “Son, you know my word, you know that the birds of the air will always have a place to rest and food to eat, I know you have two children, I know you have a wife, I know you have a family to support, but that concern is not yours, it is mine. Give it to me.” Being human, I still had concerns and still worried. I know God had it all figured it out, and we just needed to trust in Him. With me being “Mr. Mom”, I was able to catch up with my kids, to love them, teach them and care for them in a way that I was not able to before. God was blessing me through my kids and wife. I was home, I was available and I was freed up to focus on my family. Although being Mr. Mom is extremely difficult, I loved every minute of it. I loved making dinner for my family, reading to my children and teaching them colors, which, from a color blind dad, has been rather interesting. God took care of us through all of this. We have been able to stay in the black on a single income, God took care of that. We were never, at any point in time, in need like I thought we would be. Through a very generous Secret Santa, we were able to purchase Christmas gifts for our children. Through a very meaningful friendship and a ton of prayer, I have been blessed with a fantastic job with a reputable company and travel less than 30 minutes to get there! God knows the desires of your heart, He knows the needs of His children and loves you beyond words. Remain faithful to Him in every way possible, and time and time again He will bless you and make your cup run over with abundance! Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Matthew 6:26
