The anesthesiologist came in to talk to me, and I found out that she had served a fellowship at a pain clinic during her training. I was excited, because there was no need to explain my chronic pain situation; she already knew what it was!! The nurse that came in to start my IV just moved from NC. She worked at Duke Hospital with the pain clinic doctor that had treated me for a while. So she too knew about the pain condition that I fight. Because of the medical situation, and that I went to bed late and got up super early, I was still scared.
By then, I was taken to the OR. They had to wait on the doctor to get to me, so I laid there and prayed. Everyday, God gives me a song or two in my heart when I first wake up. That morning I asked Him “Wait a minute, Father, what’s my song today God? What’s the song? The only one I heard is “Great Is Thy Faithfulness, Oh God my Father!” And I thought, “God I thought it would be a ‘modern song’ – you know, a worship song from church.” Now in the middle of that cold OR room He said to me, “Oh, Tina, My faithfulness is new every morning.” Praise God!! Thank You Father for such a wonderful eye opening experience. After I woke up, the doctor told me that everything was perfect!! That there wasn’t a problem after all! The “old hymns” are still very powerful!! Lord, thank You!! Great is Your faithfulness!! Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” Lamentations 3:22-24
