I recently was hired at the Comfort Inn in Chester and this is a huge blessing in my life for a lot of reasons.
First off, I’m 20 years old and I’ve never had a good job. So far, all my jobs have been part time with a lack of hours and minimum wage. My family and I just moved into a new house and I planned to pay for the utilities but my most recent job ended up not working out because of lack of hours and the distance that I had to drive. On top of that I’m currently in minor debt and because of renovations we’re having done in our new home, my mom isn’t really able to help me out. This debt has really had me stressed and worried about my financial stability because it is my responsibility to pay it off. It’s not a huge debt, but it’s a big deal when it’s my responsibility and I have no way of paying for it. Early last week I was reading my bible and there was a verse in Matthew chapter 6 verse 31-33 saying, “So don’t worry about these things, What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?” These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” (Matthew 6:31-34 NLT)
This really ministered to me, sometimes I forget that God knows where I’m at and what’s going on with me. He knows exactly what I need and he’s not going to leave me hanging when I need help. So, I took this verse to heart and I trusted God. I read this verse early in the week last week, and Thursday while I was job searching online I got a call from a friend saying their employer was looking for someone to work the front desk. I immediately said I could do it and went in that day for an interview. The next day I got a call to do some final paper work and today I started my new job! Normally I would only work about 40 hours a month, but here I started off at 40 hours a week! God just blows me away with His timing, His consistency and His love in my life when I’m following after and trusting Him daily.
